The One Piece TCG Market in July 2026 — Monthly Report

Welcome to the second edition of our monthly market report. Same method as last month: a set-by-set, card-by-card look at what actually happened, built from OPMT's own price history for every tracked card. All prices are the cheapest listed near-mint English copy on CardMarket, measured on 1 July and 31 July 2026.

The headline: +5.7% — the market took a breath

Adding up the cheapest copy of all 3,814 cards with price data at both ends of the month, the tracked market rose from €230,104 to €243,225 — +5.7%. That is a real gain, but it is a sharp cooldown from June's +16.4% moon-shot. The breadth tells the same story:

• 490 cards up, 432 down, 2,892 flat. The up/down ratio was almost even — a world away from June. The median card, once again, did nothing.
• Among cards worth at least €5 the tally was 349 up vs 286 down: a modest tilt to the upside, not a rally.
• The top of the market actually shrank in places. Unlike June, when a single Manga Luffy accounted for a third of the market's gain, July's biggest euro move was a loss — and it was last month's champion (more below).

Mean reversion at the very top

June's headline was the Manga-rare Monkey.D.Luffy OP05-119 doubling from €9,000 to €18,000. In July it gave a big chunk straight back: €18,000 → €12,800, a −€5,200 swing — the single largest euro move we recorded all month, and the main reason OP05 was the worst-performing booster at −8.8%. If you bought the top of that candle in late June, this is the risk of thin high-end markets in one line.

But the money did not leave — it rotated one set up. The Manga Luffy from OP13 (OP13-118) climbed €17,800 → €25,000 (+€7,200), the biggest euro gain of the month and, on its own, essentially the entire +18.9% move of OP13 Carrying On His Will. Meanwhile the two SSP versions of OP05-119 — which are pulled from OP11 packs, not OP05 — rose €10,000 → €13,000 and €8,900 → €9,500, doing most of OP11's +17.6%. The same character, three prints, three different sets: one fell hard while the other two rose. This is exactly why we credit every version to the set whose packs actually contain it.

Set-by-set performance

Value-weighted change in the aggregate cheapest-copy value per set (sets with at least €1,000 of tracked value, sorted by change). Each version is counted in the set whose packs actually contain it — not its card-number prefix.

EB02 Anime 25th Collection remains the most valuable set we track at €58,000 of aggregate floor value, and after June's violent internal rotation it spent July almost perfectly flat (−0.2%). The one high-end card still visibly bleeding is the SP Hannyabal (EB01-021, pulled from EB02 packs), which halved again — €999 → €500 — continuing exactly the villain-SP slide we flagged last month.

At the top of the table, OP06's +32.4% is almost entirely one card: the Manga Roronoa Zoro OP06-118 went €1,500 → €2,400. It is the same pattern as OP13 and OP11 — a single Manga or SSP moving a whole small-float set. The steadiest gainers with real breadth were the mid-tier boosters OP09 (+16.5%) and OP01 (+12.0%), where a spread of alt-arts and Leaders firmed up rather than one whale doing the work.

At the bottom, the two red flags are instructive. OP16 The Time of Battle fell −9.6% — but that is a healthy, expected fall: it is the newest set, boxes are being cracked in volume, and a flood of fresh supply is pushing the floor down (its liquidity story is below). And ST01 Straw Hat Crew gave back −12.1%, unwinding a good part of June's remarkable +54% starter-deck pop: the base Roronoa Zoro ST01-013 slid €149.90 → €99.99 and the Luffy ST01-001 €80 → €57. Last month's hottest sleeper was this month's cooldown — a useful reminder that a one-month rocket is not a trend.

Biggest gainers of July

Cards priced at least €5 on 1 July, cheapest-copy change over the month:

Two themes jump out. First, the illustrated DON!! cards had a breakout: the Vivi art more than doubled and the Doflamingo and Boa arts weren't far behind — a small but real collector category worth keeping an eye on. Second, alt-arts and Leader alt-arts were July's momentum group — nearly every other name on this list is an ALT_ART or LEADER_AA, from the OP13 and OP14 Leaders to the ST13 Luffys. After June rewarded raw chase rarity, July rewarded the more accessible collectible tier.

It wasn't all green

Cards priced at least €5 on 1 July that fell hardest (two obvious single-listing price glitches — Usopp ST01-002 and Trafalgar Law OP09-069, both dropping to a few cents on a mispriced copy — have been excluded):

The losers cluster into three familiar buckets: June's over-extended starters cooling (Kaido, Koby, the ST01 Zoro), the ongoing high-end villain-SP unwind (Hannyabal), and the biggest whale of all reverting (the OP05-119 Manga). Notice that OP16-056 Mr.3 — a fresh-set playable — is also here: newly-printed cards drift down as supply arrives, which is the flip side of where the volume went.

Where the liquidity was: OP16 owned the tape

Prices tell you what sellers want; sales tell you what buyers do. Our sales detection (which infers sales from offer-book decreases, corrected for re-listings) registered on the order of 73,500 copies changing hands across ~1,770 cards in July — treat that as an upper-bound estimate rather than an exact figure. What is unambiguous is where it happened: seven of the ten most-traded cards were OP16, the newest set. Marshall.D.Teach (OP16-119, 845 copies), Mr.3 (OP16-056, 676), Yamato (OP16-098, 622), Boa Hancock (OP16-032, 599) and Portgas.D.Ace (OP16-118, 596) led the board, with Enel from OP15 the only older card near the top. The freshly-released set is simultaneously the cheapest to buy into and the most heavily traded — textbook new-set behaviour, and the same setup that OP15 and OP14 went through before their chase cards eventually firmed up.

Takeaways for August

• Don't chase last month's rocket. The single best-performing card of June (OP05-119 Manga) was the single worst euro mover of July. High-end prices in thin markets overshoot in both directions — position size accordingly.
• Follow the character, not the print. Luffy money didn't leave in July, it rotated — out of the OP05 Manga and into the OP13 Manga and the OP11 SSPs. If you hold a whale, the same demand can be flowing to a different version in a different set.
• Alt-arts and Leader alt-arts are the accessible momentum tier. They led July's gainer list at price points a normal collector can actually act on. Our Long-Term Deals page ranks these by more than price momentum.
• OP16 is in its supply-flood window. The floor is falling while boxes are opened — historically the accumulation phase for a set's chase cards. Watch when its scores stop falling and start firming; that inflection, not today's low price, is the signal.

Methodology: prices are the cheapest listed NM English copy on CardMarket per card version, compared between 1 July and 31 July 2026 for the 3,814 cards with data at both endpoints. Set values are the sum of cheapest copies across a set's tracked versions, with each version credited to the set whose packs actually contain it (per the printed expansion, not the card number). Sales volumes are detections from offer-book monitoring, net of re-listing corrections — treat them as upper-bound estimates.
